Technology expectations
Services are provided via secure, HIPAA-compliant, synchronous video. You must have a reliable internet connection, a working camera, and a private space where you cannot be overheard.
Geographic boundary
The clinician is licensed for independent practice in the state of Florida. Due to professional licensure requirements, you must be physically located in Florida at the exact time of the appointment. Sessions cannot be held if you are traveling out-of-state.
Telehealth emergencies
Telehealth is not appropriate for urgent or crisis care. As part of clinical intake, we will confirm your physical location and discuss an emergency protocol involving local resources in your community. If the clinician determines telehealth is not sufficient for patient safety, referrals to other levels of care may be made.
Risks of virtual care
While we use secure platforms, technology is not foolproof. Connection delays or video failures can happen. There are also inherent risks involving electronic privacy, which we mitigate by requiring a secure connection, password-protected tools, and HIPAA-compliant software operating under a BAA.
